JBER leadership receives first of two-dose COVID-19 vaccine
U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Army Col. Dean Denter, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing vice commander, receive their first of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine from Airmen assigned to the 673d Healthcare Operation Squadron at JBER, Alaska, Jan. 13, 2021. JBER leadership received the vaccine as part of the effort to slow the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon receiving the initial shipment of the vaccine, JBER began inoculating personnel following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines. The vaccine is part of Operation Warp Speed, a national initiative to accelerate the development, production and distribution of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics.
