Col. Davis Flyover Interview
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Public Affairs
May 8, 2020 | 1:53
3rd Wing Commander, Colonel Robert D. Davis gives a quick interview about the upcoming flyovers.

Col. Davis community flyover answers:

1. Why are you doing these flyovers over Alaska?
A: We are doing these flyovers to say thank you to the communities that support our military mission and support our families. In particular, we want to say thank you to our healthcare professionals and first responders for their sacrifice and service.

2. What do you have to say to Alaskans going through these tough times right now?
A: We are all in this together, so whether you are a healthcare professional, grocery store worker, or a student trying to figure out how to do online school – we appreciate everyone’s effort to keep yourself and your neighbors safe and healthy. Thank you for all that you are doing.

3. Why is it important for the military to show appreciation to communities right now?
A: Of all the challenges we have been through in the past weeks and months, we feel that now is the perfect time to deliver an airborne message of optimism and strength.

4. Why is it important to show active-duty and Guard troops working together?
A: Everything we do in the military requires teamwork, and in the 3rd Wing we rely heavily on our partnerships with the Alaska Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. We absolutely depend on these partnerships to deliver world-class airpower for America, and in particular community flyovers this next week.

5. Additional comments
To all Alaskans, thank you for your support of our military mission and our families. We cannot do it without you. I hope to personally deliver a loud ‘thank you’ from the air very soon.
