Natural disasters in Alaska

Due to its location on the edge of the Pacific plate in the "ring of fire," Southcentral Alaska is home to many potentially active volcanoes, and subject to frequent (though usually small) earthquakes. Wildfires are often common in the vast wilderness areas.
These natural disasters can be frightening, but being prepared can give you peace of mind.
