Arctic Warrior of the Week

Kristi Orebaugh, right, a Senior Education Technician assigned to 673d Force Support Squadron Childhood and Youth Programs, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by the U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, at JBER, Alaska, Jan. 8, 2021. In addition to her usual role, Orebaugh stepped up and acted as a CYP building supervisor, overseeing 50 staff and 130 children. She has continuously provided exceptional customer service for 120 families during COVID-19, working every day to ensure classrooms are meeting health and safety standards and mitigating COVID-19 exposure to JBER CYP children and their families. Orebaugh is currently enrolled in an early childhood education degree program, and shares her learning with her team members to provide top-notch child care. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing members.
