Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christepher Hoff, center, 673d Civil Engineering Squadron explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) apprentice, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, at JBER, Alaska, April 2, 2021. Hoff identified, transported, and destroyed a misfired signaling flare during an emergency response to Malamute Drop Zone, enabling 35 Tactical Air Control Party Airmen to continue their three-day training exercise. Additionally, Hoff was selected to attend COPE NORTH 2021, a five-day multinational airfield recovery exercise where he aided the Air Force Civil Engineer Center in technical order development for the Joint EOD community. Lastly, he excelled in his upgrade training, is being certified on 32 core tasks and trained on 38 additional tasks, putting him three months ahead of schedule. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top-performing Airmen.
