ARMED FORCES VOTERS WEEK reminder:

August 31 to September 7, 2008 was designated Armed Forces Voters Week.

The primary purpose of this week is to highlight that all citizens voting under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) who have not registered to vote or requested an absentee ballot this year, should do so at this time.

Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB, SF 186), is available online at www.fvap.gov

The FWAB can be voted and mailed as a back up to a requested state absentee ballot which does not arrive in time to be returned by election day (consult www.fvap.gov and the 2008-09 Voting Assistance Guide for details).

The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) can be contacted by using the toll-free numbers listed on the FVAP website, www.fvap.gov , and on the inside back cover of the Guide. In the U.S. call toll-free at 1-800-438-VOTE (8683).
