The Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Summer Concert is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Buckner Physical Fitness Center fields at JBER, Alaska, Aug. 31, 2018.

Craig Morgan and Ken Peltier will take the stage for a free concert open to anybody with JBER access, said M.J. Motta, 673d Force Support Squadron commercial sponsorship coordinator.

The venue will open to concertgoers at 5 p.m. and the opening act, Ken Peltier, will start his performance at 6.

Rain or shine the show will go on, said Jessica Shaffer, 673d FSS marketing director.

“If it’s just a drizzle, the show will go on as planned,” she said. “Should the rain evolve past that, we’ll move the show into Buckner Physical Fitness Center. We’ll make the announcement online the morning of the event.”

The first thirty people to sign up for the JBER Life text messaging campaign will have the opportunity to meet with Morgan backstage before the concert, Motta said.

“People are excited for the concert,” Shaffer said. “We see them tagging their friends and commenting on Facebook. We’re expecting a good turnout.”

The headlining act, Craig Morgan will take the stage at 7 p.m.

This is Morgan’s return to JBER after a USO concert at Buckner in 2016.

“We've been working really hard to put on a great event for the local community and hope everyone enjoys the event,” Motta said. “We don't have any additional concerts scheduled, however, depending on the feedback we receive – if it’s a successful event, we will look to bring other artists for future concerts.”
