Sharpe demonstrated remarkable performance with the 3rd Wing Financial Management Analysis Team, where he played a significant role in the $25 million 3rd Wing financial year-end closeout, led certifying and accounting operations for the wing emergency leave program, and approved $814,000 for 175 Airmen and their families. Sharpe also managed the spousal licensure process, reimbursing 23 members $10,400. Additionally, he was imperative to Pacific Command’s Valiant Shield, for which he obligated $1.6 million, mobilizing 300 warfighters. Sharpe is serving a second tour with the JBER Honor Guard. U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Evan K. Uehara, right, 773d Civil Engineer Squadron Power Production section journeyman, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Army Col. Dean Denter, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing vice commander, at JBER, Alaska, Sept. 18, 2020. Uehara was a pivotal Aircraft Arresting System team member during two fairlead beam roller overhauls, which involved replacing more than 100 critical components, helping guarantee the safety of F-22 Raptor aircraft caught by emergency arresting cable. Additionally, Uehara was a first responder to an electrical emergency outage where power systems provided emergency backup power to 12 mission-critical sites, including critical runway navigational aids. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Matthew Haselden, front center, 773d Logistics Readiness Squadron traffic management journeyman, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, front left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, front right, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Sept. 11, 2020. Haselden is responsible for booking and releasing Non-Temporary Storage of household goods for JBER’s Joint Personal Property Shipping Office. In the past 30 days, he processed 309 NTS shipments valued at $120,000. Haselden recently processed and arranged storage of household goods for nine quickly deploying service members to be picked up within 72 hours, abating those members’ deployment stress. During the coronavirus pandemic, he also assisted JPPSO Outbound in canceling and rebooking more than 700 personal-property shipments for members traveling across the globe. During recent deployment operations to Guam, Haselden in-checked Exercise Valiant Shield assets: a U.S. Air Force C-5 Galaxy aircraft and two commercial 747 aircraft. Finally, in an effort to hone and broaden his leadership skills during this tough time, Haselden has been actively pursuing his Community College of the Air Force degree by completing two courses. Arctic Warrior of the Week

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kyle Hackett, right, 673d Communications Squadron client systems technician, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Army Col. Dean Denter, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing vice commander, at JBER, Alaska, July 31, 2020. Hackett scored a 90% and 93% on both of his end-of-course exams, and completed the training in four months. Additionally, he was handpicked as one of three Air Force Public Key Infrastructure Trusted Agents providing Secret Internet Protocol Router tokens to senior leaders on JBER enabling them command-and-control access to secure networks. Finally, Hackett showed his technical prowess by developing a computer script to automate the remote configuration of printer settings and complete vulnerability checklists for the joint base, saving 10 man-hours per week for the Client Systems work center. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Kelsy Kienkintveld, center, 673d Medical Operations Squadron Family Health medical technician, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Aug. 27, 2020. Kiekintveld is an integral team member assigned to the Pacific Air Forces’ largest Family Health Flight, where she performs essential care for 19,000 patients annually. She was a key player during the stand-up of the command’s first Airman Medical Readiness Optimization Clinic, which has treated more than 4,600 patients from 56 squadrons and garnered recognition as the number one AMRO clinic in the Air Force. Kiekintveld augmented the Inpatient Operations Squadron’s Multi-Service Unit for 160 hours enabling the creation of a $512,000 rapid response isolation unit, thereby enhancing the hospital’s ability to care for COVID-19 patients. Lastly, as an emergency medical technician, she witnessed and responded to an off-duty motor vehicle mass-casualty accident in a rural location where she controlled the scene and provided emergency patient care for 45 minutes until advanced life support arrived, ultimately resulting in no chronic neurological deficits and a life saved. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kasie Biller, center, 673d Contracting Squadron contract specialist, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Aug. 27, 2020. Biller is the lead contract specialist for the $4.9 million Quarter Master Laundry Chemical & Supplies commodities contract. Her administration of this task results in the cleaning of all military Central Issue Facility items for over 70 mission partners on a monthly basis. Biller took on the challenge of acquiring an alarm system upgrade to the 725th Brigade Support Battalion armory, restoring their physical security standards while boosting weapons maintenance capability. She also remedied earthquake damage to the Medical Group Otolaryngology Clinic sound booth helping save $89,000 annually in TRICARE fees by keeping patients inside of the network. She recently enrolled in college courses for her Bachelor’s degree and the three remaining courses for her Community College of the Air Force degree. She was also selected by leadership to become the unit’s Suicide Prevention & Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Implementers, where she honed her skills as a public speaker providing training to the 673d CONS Squadron in coordination with the Wing SAPR office. Davidson provided support for prescribed fires which enabled the U.S. Army to conduct qualification, simulation and live-fire battle drills, keeping them ready to support combat operations worldwide. Davidson completed his operator aerial device certification allowing him to fill staffing vacancies on the only aerial firefighting apparatus on JBER. Davidson was also hand-selected to be an ice-rescue technician, where he learned valuable skills to keep people safe during outdoor winter activities. Loman is responsible for supporting 27 U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors by liaising between the 90th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, the 673d LRS and the 735th Supply Chain Operations Group at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. Loman corrected discrepancies in inventory which prevented loss of man hours and helped isolate potential failure points. Loman spearheaded the Due-In From Maintenance program by processing assets back into the repair cycle and ensuring quick turnaround of critical parts for the F-22 mission set. Loman was key to helping the AMU complete a total of 153 sorties by acquiring 313 vital assets. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.

As the lead alarm monitor trainer, Green established a rigorous training plan which enabled seven Airmen to pass their initial qualification with a 95-percent average. Green was hand-picked to fill his current ESS position where he is one of two Airmen responsible for the largest alarm system in the Pacific Air Forces. U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Ashley Alfonzo, a 673d Aerospace Medical Squadron public health technician, receives Arctic Warrior of the Week award from U.S. Air Force Col. Patricia A. Csànk, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, 673d Air Base Wing command chief, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, July 8, 2020. Alfonzo led a team of three Airmen in the Deployment Medicine Section, this involved liaisons with six clinics and 45 Unit Deployment Monitors to process 344 deploying personnel to support missions across 24 countries, resulting in zero early returns. Additionally, her team redeployed 257 personnel, ensuring all health assessments, blood tests and medical referrals were completed on time. Finally, Alfonzo identified 37 personnel returning from high risk COVID-19 areas and facilitated medical interviews to assess risk and prevent possible spread to the installation’s population. The Arctic Warrior of the Week is an award highlighting JBER’s top-performing Airmen.

Arctic Warrior of the Week

Mrs. Hannah Tolbert, 673d Contracting Squadron contract specialist, is recognized as Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Army Col. Dean Denter, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 21, 2020. Tolbert supports the $99 million base Multi-Award Construction Contract under the CopperCap program. Tolbert manages an active contract portfolio of nine construction contracts valued over $7.9 million, supporting JBER's 2.2 thousand assets and $13.3 billion infrastructure. While managing her own projects she volunteered to take on the workload of two absent personnel, temporarily tripling her workload, continuing support of 23 contracts worth $19.2 million. Tolbert also took the lead in pushing a $170 thousand modification for design of the Boniface Visitor Control Center maintain contracting and construction timelines for project completion. U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Demauray McClanahan, a 673d Medical Operations Squadron physical medicine technician, is recognized as Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Army Col. Dean Denter, 673d Air Base Wing and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson vice commander, as the Arctic Warrior of the Week at JBER, Alaska, Dec. 27, 2019. McClanahan is one of the lead instructors for a mobility course which is offered by our physical therapy clinic and involves foam rolling, soft tissue, and self-maintenance prevention techniques. He is a lead instructor for the Physical Training Rehabilitation Course where he was recently part of integrating professionals to speak on diet and sports psychology. McClanahan is a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor and was selected to promote to senior airman below the zone in the summer of 2019. Ruiz is a key asset to Pacific Air Forces’ largest multi-service unit, providing essential services to 159,000 Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs beneficiaries. In less than two years she progressed to the shift leader position, and has shown stellar clinical skills, providing care to 2,200 patients, delivering $7.6 million in services and leading her flight’s patient safety program. Ruiz spearheaded a clothing drive for the Covenant House aiding over 100 dislocated teenagers and provided medical response for the Unite Church youth camp, ensuring the safety of 120 participants.  The Arctic Warrior of the Week is an award highlighting JBER’s top-performing Airmen.

In addition, Smith aided with the installation of a $327,000 Medstation by unloading and loading 1,200 medications, which improved inventory control and promoted patient safety. Smith’s extremely positive attitude is continuously noted by both patients and leadership, and he has been recognized for going above and beyond in his duties while taking care of patients.
