Arctic Warrior of the Week

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Marcus Davidson (center front), 673d Civil Engineer Squadron Fire and Emergency Services Flight fire protection journeyman, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar (left front), Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills (far right), JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Aug. 14, 2020. Davidson provided support for prescribed fires which enabled the U.S. Army to conduct qualification, simulation and live-fire battle drills, keeping them ready to support combat operations worldwide. Davidson completed his operator aerial device certification allowing him to fill staffing vacancies on the only aerial firefighting apparatus on JBER. Davidson was also hand-selected to be an ice-rescue technician, where he learned valuable skills to keep people safe during outdoor winter activities. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.
