In keeping with guidance from Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks, effective immediately, fully immunized Department of Defense personnel are no longer required to wear a mask indoors or outdoors here or at other DoD facilities.

Full immunization is reached two weeks after receipt of the final dose of a COVID-19 vaccination series. Hicks’ guidance stems from updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines released May 13th.

DoD personnel will continue to comply with CDC guidance regarding areas where masks should be worn, including within airports. Personnel who are not fully vaccinated must continue to follow DoD mask guidance for unvaccinated personnel, including continuing to wear masks indoors.

Commanders and supervisors may make exceptions to as necessary to ensure a safe workforce.

Military personnel are expected to continue to follow state, local, and installation COVID-19 guidance.
