The 673d Air Base Wing will host a 3-day innovation summit Tuesday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the JBER-Richardson Arctic Warrior Event Center.
The purpose of this event is to highlight JBER as a leader in Air Force innovation initiatives, foster idea sharing and demonstrate new processes and equipment to Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and JBER mission partner leadership. It also offers a unique opportunity for insight and interaction between the best of both the civilian and military innovation communities.
Guests include Google, MITRE, TRON and Space Camp along with Air Force innovation leaders AFWERX and CYBERWORX, who partner a variety of innovative problem solvers - Airmen, cadets, industry, and academia - to connect Air Force warfighters with solutions that feature current and future technology in impactful ways.
Throughout the event, both military and civilian experts will present their ideas, processes and methodology on all things innovation. Event highlights include:
Day 1 (Dec. 3) Kickoff by Col Patricia Csànk, 673d Air Base Wing Commander, from 8 to 8:15 a.m.; MITRE Capability Brief from 8:15 to 9 a.m.; Space Camp Capability Brief 10:15 to 11 a.m.; and Google’s Culture of Innovation and Capability Briefs from 2:50 to 4:20 p.m.
Day 2 (Dec. 4) There will be five breakout sessions from 9:30 a.m. to noon and repeated at 1:15 to 4 p.m. as follows:
Day 3 (Dec. 5) highlights include the Anchorage I-Team & Launch Alaska and Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Capability Brief and Perspective from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and Google’s “Pre-totyping” from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. which focuses on validating ideas quickly, objectively, and accurately; Google Machine Learning from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. and closing remarks from Lieutenant General Thomas A. Bussiere at 4 p.m.
