JBER assessing, recovering after significant Anchorage-area earthquake

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska —

Service members from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson are currently accounting for personnel and conducting a damage assessment of installation facilities from today's earthquake, and preparing to provide emergency support to the base populace and the community as needed.

 

While a tsunami is not expected to affect the Anchorage area, JBER personnel are trained and prepared for the possibility.
