Two Alaska Security Forces Airmen honored during National Police Week

Austere medicine redefined: testing the ATC-EST's capabilities at Northern Edge 23-1

Northern Edge 23-1, a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command sponsored, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) led, multilateral, joint field training exercise, kicked off at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on May 4, 2023. This exercise provided the opportunity to test the capabilities of the Air Transportable Clinic-Establish (ATC-EST), a health service support device designed by the Pacific Air Forces’ Office of the Command Surgeon and a medical modernization team to support agile combat employment operations at forward operating bases.

F-22 Raptor rejoins fleet after five-year absence

It was April 2018 when a failed takeoff at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada, left one of the 3rd Wing’s F-22 Raptors in critical condition. After a team went to Fallon for the disassembly and transport of the jet back to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, tail number AF-07-146 spent nearly five years gearing up for a return to the skies. After completion of the long rebuilding process, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Philip Johnson, a functional-check-flight pilot assigned to the 514th Flight Test Squadron, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, came to JBER to fly the newly restored aircraft May 4.

US, Multinational service members, ships, aircraft meet in Alaska for Northern Edge 23-1

Thousands of U.S. service members, five ships and more than 150 aircraft are scheduled to participate in Northern Edge 2023 (NE23-1), a joint field training exercise at various locations in and around Alaska, beginning May 4, 2023.
