1-501st Scout Platoon holds reconnaissance and mobility training
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to the Scout Platoon, 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Alaska, hold reconnaissance training at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 10, 2022. The training consisted of trailblazing undeveloped wilderness and scouting a simulated opposition force. The Scout Platoon held the training to test reconnaissance and mobility capabilities in an arctic environment.
611 ACOMS conduct cyber defense activities in remote Arctic location
UTQIAGVIK, Alaska — Stepping off a U.S. Air Force C-12 Huron and into freezing air, four members of the 611th Air Communications Squadron made their way to one of the most remote radar sites in the country, located 350 miles above the Arctic Circle and just outside the village of Utqiagvik.

Emergency Management Airmen hold radiological response training

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — Cavalry scouts assigned to A Troop, 1st Squadron (Airborne), 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Alaska, conduct live-fire maneuver training on the Light Infantry Collective Training Course at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 2, 2022. The training focused on eliminating simulated enemy positions through fire team movement. USARAK trains year-round to increase lethal combat support in an Arctic environment.
