'1 Geronimo' Paratroopers try out for Scout Platoon

A U.S. Army paratrooper assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, fires an M24 Sniper Weapons System during tryouts for the battalion’s Scout Platoon under the observation of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Sean Rex, a paratrooper assigned to the Scout Platoon, on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Sept. 15, 2021. Scout Platoon is a uniquely organized, trained and equipped unit capable of conducting reconnaissance missions in support of and in advance of the battalion.
