Shields: Glad to be back with USARAK
Army Maj. Gen. Michael Shields, U.S. Army Alaska commanding general, speaks with dignitaries following his July 30 change-of-command ceremony at Pershing Parade Field. Shields previously served in Alaska as 172d Stryker Brigade Combat Team commander, deploying to Iraq in 2005 for a 16-month deployment. Shields identified sexual harassment prevention and the development of leaders as the command’s top two priorities. (Photo courtesy of USARAK)
