JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska –
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will host its annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony.
This free event, open to all Department of Defense ID cardholders, begins at 4 p.m. and ends with the lighting of the tree outside Building 1 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The ceremony is a way to bring service members, families, and leadership together to promote unity, holiday cheer and family fun.
People can enjoy holiday crafts, hot chocolate, and performances by Orion Elementary School choir preceding the ceremony. A free movie will play at the Frontier Theater following the tree lighting.
