Red Flag-Alaska 26-2, a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise, is scheduled to begin May 28 and run through June 12 with primary flight operations over the Joint Pacific-Alaska Range Complex.

Red Flag-Alaska is designed to provide realistic training in a simulated combat environment.

During this iteration, approximately 1,149 service members are expected to fly, maintain and support more than 55 aircraft from 14 units based out of Eielson Air Force Base and JBER, Alaska. In addition to the U.S., service members from the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Royal Air Force are scheduled to operate from JBER, enabling them to exchange tactics, techniques and procedures while improving interoperability with fellow Airmen.

Red Flag-Alaska training spans from individual skills to complex, large-scale joint engagements. The exercises can be adapted to integrate various forces into a realistic threat environment using the approximately 120,000 square-miles of airspace in JPARC, the largest combat training range in the world.

Enhancing the strength of alliances and partnerships through increased interoperability is a priority for PACAF. To highlight these efforts, JBER will host a RF-A 26-2 media day at 9:30 a.m. on June 4.

This media day may include:
• A briefing explaining RF-A 26-2.
• Interviews with RF-A 26-2 key personnel.
• Static aircraft displays

Media desiring to attend this event at JBER must coordinate escort through the 673d ABW Public Affairs office no later than 11 a.m., June 3 by sending an email to jber.pa.mediaops@us.af.mil. Please provide the names of the media outlet, reporter and their contact phone number.
