The USO will celebrate the grand opening of a new USO Fort Richardson Lounge, located at 714 First St., Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at noon. The lounge will provide an inviting space for service members to relax, recharge, and connect with others, enhancing quality of life for those stationed at JBER.

Following the ribbon cutting, attendees will be invited to tour the new facility, which features comfortable seating, entertainment options, and resources designed to meet the needs of Alaska’s military community.

“This new USO lounge is another way we’re ensuring service members have a welcoming place to feel at home, no matter where they are stationed,” said Scott Maskery, USO Indo-Pacific regional vice president. “Our mission is to keep them connected to family, home, and country.”

The USO is the leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the well-being of America’s military service members and their families. Since 1941, the USO has stood beside service members throughout their military journey, providing support through more than 250 locations worldwide, care package programs, entertainment tours, and a range of military family programs.
