JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska —

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, is home to a variety of aircraft platforms including the C-17 Globemaster III, C-130 Hercules and F-22 Raptor. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or directly to forward bases in the deployment area, while the C-130 can accommodate a wide variety of oversized cargo, including utility helicopters and six-wheeled armored vehicles to standard palletized cargo and passengers. The F-22, a critical component of the Global Strike Task Force, is designed to project air dominance rapidly and at great distances and defeat threats to the U.S. and its allies.
