Civilian retires after 48 years of federal service

Gloria Brunson, barracks manager for the 725th Brigade Support Battalion (Airborne), 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 11th Airborne Division, is presented a certificate of service by U.S. Army Col. Stephen Polacek, deputy commander of the 673d Air Base Wing, during Brunson’s retirement ceremony at the Arctic Warrior Event Center, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 1, 2025. Brunson retired after 48 years of civilian service, starting as a clerk typist in 1977. She worked various civilian service-related jobs in between, and ended as a barracks manager at JBER.
