3 AEW returns to hub Nellis AFB from spoke NAS North Island for Bamboo Eagle 24-1
Members of the 3rd Air Expeditionary Wing command-and-control force element pose for a group photo at the conclusion of exercise Bamboo Eagle on Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Feb. 2, 2024. The 3 AEW exercised combat-representative mission command and control from Nellis AFB to the decentralized execution at disaggregated locations including Edwards AFB, March Air Reserve Base, Naval Air Station North Island, and Naval Base Ventura County. Commanders enable decentralized execution by empowering subordinate decision-making to enable flexibility, initiative, and responsiveness in mission accomplishment.
