U.S. and Canadian Air Force service members await their chance to honor the fallen by placing roses on the cross at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Sept. 22, 2021. The Yukla 27 crash occurred Sept. 22, 1995, 42 seconds after a U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry had gone airborne, killing all 24 of its Canadian and U.S. crew members.
