Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Faith Baxter, 673d Surgical Operations Squadron medical technician, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, July 14, 2021. Baxter successfully directed the medical group’s Visiting Surgeons Program, in which she managed 50 referrals and triaged 12 medically needed surgeries. Additionally, Baxter trained three technicians while she led the wound-care clinic for six weeks, enabling treatment for 20 inpatients and processing 103 clinic appointments. She also devoted 18 hours to combatting the pandemic and has helped vaccinate more than 2,700 active-duty service members. Lastly, Baxter extended her service to the community by training 17 Soldiers to perform eye exams in support of the joint service Arctic Mission in Kodiak, Alaska.
