Arctic Warrior of the Week

U.S. Air Force Senior Airmen John Graham, center, a 673d Intensive Care Unit aerospace medical services technician, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, May 21, 2021. Graham recently completed his orientation in the ICU and learned cardiac monitoring. Within a week of training completion, he identified a life-threatening arrhythmia in a COVID-positive patient, which indicated a heart attack. He activated the emergency response and collected bloodwork to confirm the cardiac event, which mitigated further irreparable damage to the patient's heart. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER's top-performing Airmen.
