Arctic Warrior of the Week

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Michael Grant, center, 673d Contracting Squadron contracting officer, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kristen Aguilar, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, at JBER, Alaska, March 18, 2021. Grant completed the Contracting Officer test and became the unit’s only warranted A1C. Additionally, Grant was selected for the AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research program and the Small Business Technology Transfer program, enabling him to affect Air-Force level operations by awarding new contracts, enhancing missile guidance systems. Lastly, he has been coordinating requirements for Pacific Air Forces’ exercise Northern Edge, specifically for the remote Cold Bay, Alaska site. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top-performing Airmen.
