JBER firefighters conduct ice rescue training
U.S. Airman 1st Class Walter Stefan, a fire protection specialist assigned to the 673d Civil Engineer Squadron, pulls himself from open water during ice rescue training at Six Mile Lake on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 21, 2020. The training certified the firefighters as ice rescue technicians by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe rescue and recovery operations in ice and cold water.
