Arctic Warrior of the Week

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Andrea Snyder, center, a 673d Medical Group medical logistics technician, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, far left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, far right, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Oct. 2, 2020. Snyder played a lead role in the first-ever test of Arctic contingency hospital capabilities. During the Polar Force 20-4 exercise she readied nine aircraft pallets in an astounding five hours, with zero write-ups from the Joint Inspection. Finally, in April 2020, she played a key role in sending a 25-bed contingency hospital to Guam in support of the CVN-71 recovery mission, providing front line care for the 4,200 sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.
