Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Matthew Haselden, front center, 773d Logistics Readiness Squadron traffic management journeyman, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, front left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, front right, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Sept. 11, 2020. Haselden is responsible for booking and releasing Non-Temporary Storage of household goods for JBER’s Joint Personal Property Shipping Office. In the past 30 days, he processed 309 NTS shipments valued at $120,000. Haselden recently processed and arranged storage of household goods for nine quickly deploying service members to be picked up within 72 hours, abating those members’ deployment stress. During the coronavirus pandemic, he also assisted JPPSO Outbound in canceling and rebooking more than 700 personal-property shipments for members traveling across the globe. During recent deployment operations to Guam, Haselden in-checked Exercise Valiant Shield assets: a U.S. Air Force C-5 Galaxy aircraft and two commercial 747 aircraft. Finally, in an effort to hone and broaden his leadership skills during this tough time, Haselden has been actively pursuing his Community College of the Air Force degree by completing two courses. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.
