Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kasie Biller, center, 673d Contracting Squadron contract specialist, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, at JBER, Alaska, Aug. 27, 2020. Biller is the lead contract specialist for the $4.9 million Quarter Master Laundry Chemical & Supplies commodities contract. Her administration of this task results in the cleaning of all military Central Issue Facility items for over 70 mission partners on a monthly basis. Biller took on the challenge of acquiring an alarm system upgrade to the 725th Brigade Support Battalion armory, restoring their physical security standards while boosting weapons maintenance capability. She also remedied earthquake damage to the Medical Group Otolaryngology Clinic sound booth helping save $89,000 annually in TRICARE fees by keeping patients inside of the network. She recently enrolled in college courses for her Bachelor’s degree and the three remaining courses for her Community College of the Air Force degree. She was also selected by leadership to become the unit’s Suicide Prevention & Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Implementers, where she honed her skills as a public speaker providing training to the 673d CONS Squadron in coordination with the Wing SAPR office. The AWOW is an award highlighting JBER’s top performing Airmen.
