Army Sgt. Corey Ford, assigned to the 95th Chemical Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, U.S. Army Alaska, participates in a Noncommissioned Officer induction ceremony at the Alaska Army National Guard armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 6, 2019, as he makes the career transition into junior leader, and is promoted to the rank of sergeant. When Army Soldiers are promoted to the noncommissioned officer ranks they become the first level of authority in their Soldiers' chains of command, and are responsible for their charges' health, welfare, training and discipline.
