Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Kora Ruiz, a 673d Inpatient Operations Squadron aerospace medical technician, is recognized as Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Patricia A. Csànk, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Michael Venning, Elmendorf Professional Military Education Center commandant, at JBER, Alaska, Nov. 22, 2019. Ruiz is a key asset to Pacific Air Forces’ largest multi-service unit, providing essential services to 159,000 Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs beneficiaries. In less than two years she progressed to the shift leader position, and has shown stellar clinical skills, providing care to 2,200 patients, delivering $7.6 million in services and leading her flight’s patient safety program. Ruiz spearheaded a clothing drive for the Covenant House aiding over 100 dislocated teenagers and provided medical response for the Unite Church youth camp, ensuring the safety of 120 participants. The Arctic Warrior of the Week is an award highlighting JBER’s top-performing Airmen.
