MRI suite ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrates remodel and upgrades
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new MRI suite in the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson hospital was held on JBER, Alaska, Oct. 28, 2019. During the revamp and remodel from May 2018 to Oct. 2019, MRIs were done in a trailer outside the hospital. The MRI area remodel included the creation of one joint control room, rather than the former two control rooms in separate areas; an upgraded 1.5 Tesla GE scanner; and newer patient amenities such as dressing rooms, a reception desk, a waiting area, and murals and lighting in the scanner rooms for patient comfort.
