Airmen learn F-22 refueling during Polar Force 20-1

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Anthony Santos, 525th Aircraft Maintenance Unit dedicated crew chief, marshalls an F-22 Raptor during an Agile Combat Employment (ACE) aircraft refueling exercise as part of a Polar Force 20-1 training and mission readiness exercise at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 3, 2019. Polar Force 20-1 is designed to exercise multiple elements of the ACE concept of operations. These elements include generating fifth-generation combat power from austere locations, command and control using non-traditional methods, and rapid airlift capabilities to sustain a forward operating location. The ACE concept enables the 3rd Wing to deliver lethal airpower for the United States, even in a contested environment.
