Polar Force 20-1
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Edwin Leiva, 90th Fighter Squadron crew chief, does thru-flight procedures during a Polar Force (PF) 20-1 exercise simulating chemical contamination at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 2, 2019. PF 20-1 is designed to exercise multiple elements of the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) concept of operations. These elements include generating fifth-generation combat power from austere locations, command and control using non-traditional methods, and rapid airlift capabilities to sustain a forward operating location. The ACE concept enables the 3rd Wing to deliver lethal airpower for the United States, even in a contested environment.
