Soldiers assigned to the 109th Transportation Company, 17th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, U.S. Army Alaska, convoy through the Kenai Penninsula to load U.S. Marine Corps bulk fuel supplies and equipment from the U.S.S. Comstock (LSD-45), a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship, at the port of Seward, Alaska, Sept. 19, 2019, for transport to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The U.S. Navy is conducting an Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise to test its logistical effectiveness and joint-service interoperability while responding to conflict or disaster in an austere environment with no organic assets.
