Mountain star; JBER Airmen keeping it lit
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Steven Andersen, 773d Civil Engineer Squadron electrical shop exterior electric noncommissioned officer in charge, checks one of 350, 60-watt incandescent light bulbs on the brightly lit star on the side of Mount Gordon Lyon at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Nov. 23, 2018. The star’s light mostly comes from the use of everyday 60-watt incandescent light bulbs, but the 773d CES electrical shop has been testing new light-emitting diode lights that burn brighter and are more energy efficient near the star’s tips.
