Army Sgt. Gary Santiago,and Spc. Alejandro Barboza, both assigned to Hawk Company,3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Alaska, conduct a land navigation course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, April 4, 2018. The Soldiers used their skills to plot courses using a lensatic compass, protractor, and a 1:25,000 scale map to navigate to, and locate points using provided grid coordinates within a predetermined time.
