Aicrew flight equipment Airman saves lives
Senior Airman David Texada (left), an aircrew flight equipment journeyman with the 3rd Operations Support Squadron, inspects a BA-22 Back Parachute Aug. 16, 2017, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, while Tech. Sgt. Jim Silvernail, 517th Aircrew Flight Equipment noncommissioned officer in charge, inspects Texada's work. The BA-22 includes survival gear necessary to keep an aircrew member alive, and the colored parachute can work as camouflage or a signal device.
