Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska - Airman 1st Class Malachi Whitney, 673d Aerospace Medicine Squadron public health specialist, and Dr. Clarise Starr, United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine deputy division chief, set up a mosquito trap at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, July 25, 2017. Scientists from AFSAM visited JBER to gather mosquitoes and ship them in three different preservatives for their new method of testing – genome sequencing, which requires the rapidly degenerating DNA/RNA.
