Snow Melter

An operator assigned to the 773d Civil Engineering Squadron’s Horizontal Maintenance section, loads ice and snow into a Trecan snowmelter machine on the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson flight line, March 22, 2017. This machine, the only one in the U.S. Air Force’s inventory, has been operating for more than 300 hours this winter, allowing crews of two to work 24/7, keeping the flight line operational.
