JBER provides immunizations during Alaska Flu Season
Senior Airman Casie Neiman, 673d Medical Operational Support Allergy and Immunizations backup technician, fills a syringe with flu vaccine at the People Center at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 5, 2016. Patients receive the full benefit of the vaccine after two weeks; protection lasts for a few months. The Allergy and Immunization clinic recommended taking the influenza shot mid-October for maximum protection against the expected flu spike between January and April.
