Big hearts, bigger problems

A patient receives an electrocardiogram to determine if he has atrial fibrillation at the cardiopulmonary clinic at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson hospital, Alaska, Sept. 6, 2016. An electrocardiogram tests the sinus rhythm of the heart through electric waves and is the most common practice because A-fib is a disease that causes abnormalities in the flow of electricity in the heart.
