Airman finds joy in volunteering

U.S. Air Force Maj. Craig McDowell, 611th Air Operations Squadron chief of combat plans, volunteers almost daily at Covenant House Alaska, an organization that helps homeless and struggling youth overcome life's hurdles. McDowell has been volunteering at CHA since early 2013. If he's not on a temporary duty assignment, he's volunteering, said Jennifer Piffarerio, CHA counseling psychologist.
