JBER SFS approving office personnel to carry weapons, enhancing security base-wide
The Security Forces Staff arming program will allow approved military police Soldiers, security forces Airmen and defense force civilian personnel on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson working in staff positions at the office to carry weapons as they go about their daily tasks. Historically, only persons on patrol would be armed. This new initiative aims to make what is already considered a norm in the civilian sector normal operations in the military sector.
