Dr. Moran Blanchard, the senior project archaeologist for Northern Land Use Research Alaska, LLC explains how he discovered the previously-unknown internment camp at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson as part of the Day of Remembrance ceremony, Feb. 19 at the Army Reserve Center. The ceremony highlighted findings on JBER-Richardson's internment camp and was held in honor of the men, women, and children of Japanese descent who were interned by the U.S. during World War II.
