JBER hosts ceremony honoring families of those interned at recently discoverd camp

Alice Hikido, daughter of John Tanaka, who was arrested and interned out of Juneau, Alaska, shares some of the ways the internment affected her childhood and family at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson's Day of Remembrance ceremony, Feb. 19 at the Army Reserve Center. The ceremony highlighted findings on JBER-Richardson's internment camp and was held in honor of the men, women, and children of Japanese descent who were interned by the U.S. during World War II.
