Refueling over the Gulf of Alaska during NE15

A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18D Hornet aircraft, assigned to the Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 242, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, attaches to the drogue basket of a U.S. Air Force KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft, assigned to the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Andrews Air Force Base, Md., Air Force Reserve, over the Gulf of Alaska, June 22, 2015. The aircraft was conducting an aerial refuel while flying a training mission during Exercise Northern Edge 15. Northern Edge is Alaska’s premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among the services.
