Preventing domestic violence

Members of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and the Anchorage Community participate in a Domestic Violence Prevention Month opening ceremony Oct. 1, 2014 at the Covenant House in Anchorage, Alaska. Representatives from Anchorage social services, the Anchorage Police Department, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, the Municipality of Anchorage mayor’s office, Sen. Mark Begich, a representative from the office of Alaska governor Sean Parnell and others from JBER and the Anchorage community participated in the event. Awards were presented to those making a positive impact against domestic violence, including Alaska the National Guard Master Sgt. Brian Neild intervened in an incident, stopping the violence.
