Alaska, Canada conduct joint arctic SAREX

The 442 Squadron crew was stopping over in Sitka on their way to a joint Canada/U.S. Arctic Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Cross-border SAREXs are conducted regularly to ensure both Canadian and American SAR personnel are familiar with each others' operations in the event of an emergency response involving crews from both the Canadian Armed Forces and U.S. military.
